Shopify Integration

Connect your Shopify store to Orki so your AI agents can access your product catalog, search for products, and send product recommendations to customers.

Path: Products > Sources > Shopify

What This Integration Does

Once connected, your AI agents can:

  • Search your Shopify product catalog
  • Recommend products based on customer requests
  • Send product carousels on WhatsApp
  • Access real-time pricing and availability

Prerequisites

Before connecting Shopify, ensure you have:

  • A Shopify store (any plan)
  • Admin access to your Shopify store (to create a custom app)

Connecting Shopify

The connection uses a custom app you create in your own Shopify store — there is no redirect to Shopify and no OAuth authorization screen.

Step 1: Open the Shopify Source

Go to Products → Sources → Shopify in the Orki sidebar and click "Add Integration". A step-by-step guide opens.

Step 2: Create a Custom App in Shopify

Following the guide, in the Shopify Dev Dashboard:

  1. Create a custom app for your store
  2. Select the product-related Admin API scopes (read products and related data)
  3. Release and install the app on your store

Step 3: Paste the Credentials into Orki

Copy the credentials from your custom app and paste them into the Orki form:

FieldWhere to Find It
Shop URLYour yourstore.myshopify.com URL (Shopify admin > Settings > Domains)
Client IDThe custom app's Client ID
SecretThe custom app's Client Secret

Save the integration.

Step 4: Wait for Initial Sync

Orki will automatically begin syncing your products. This may take a few minutes depending on your catalog size. Once complete, your Shopify products appear in the Products grid with "Shopify" as their source.

Step 5: Verify and Test

Spot-check a few products (names, prices, images), then go to Playground and test product searches:

  • Ask about specific products
  • Request recommendations by category
  • Verify AI can find and describe your products

To force an immediate sync:

  1. Go to Products → Sources
  2. Find the Shopify integration
  3. Click "Sync"

Managing Synced Products

Viewing Products

Shopify products appear in your Products grid with:

  • Source column showing "Shopify"
  • All synced product information
  • Link to original Shopify product

Editing Products

Shopify products are read-only in Orki. To update:

  1. Make changes in your Shopify admin
  2. Wait for automatic sync, or trigger manual sync
  3. Updated data appears in Orki

Product Status

Control whether Shopify products are available to AI:

  • Active: AI can search and recommend this product
  • Inactive: Hidden from AI searches

Toggle status directly in Orki — this doesn't affect Shopify.

Managing the Integration

On Products → Sources, each Shopify integration offers:

ActionDescription
EditUpdate the Shop URL or credentials
Enable/Disable toggleTemporarily turn the integration on or off
SyncTrigger an immediate product sync
Delete IntegrationRemove the integration — a warning explains that synced data is removed
What Happens When You Delete
  • Synced products are removed from Orki
  • AI can no longer access Shopify products
  • Your Shopify store is not affected

Troubleshooting

Products Not Appearing

  • Verify the connection is active
  • Check that products are published in Shopify
  • Try a manual sync
  • Ensure products aren't hidden or draft status

Sync Taking Too Long

Initial sync for large catalogs (1000+ products) may take several minutes. Subsequent syncs are faster.

Connection Lost

If syncing stops working:

  1. Check the custom app is still installed in Shopify and its scopes are intact
  2. Use Edit to update the credentials if they changed
  3. Trigger a Sync and wait for products to sync again

Wrong Prices Showing

  • Verify prices in Shopify are correct
  • Trigger a manual sync
  • Check if using multi-currency in Shopify
